I want to thank Bill Rini for blogging about this site on his poker blog. He has a great poker blog that has lots of commentary on his poker play, vacations and much more. I thought I would return the favor and blog about his site as he did that for mine. I like his title about first out poker, ” The Worst $10,000 You Could Ever Spend”…it’s definitely catchy.
Bill’s Points:
1. “Now, the second problem I have with this is that the seller can’t possibly guarantee he’ll be anything close to the first person out. Why? Well because there are FOUR FIRST DAYS!!! Day one is broken down into A, B, C, and D so if you bust on Day 1 in groups B, C, or D you are certainly not the first to bust. And technically, even the first person to bust in group A isn’t really the first person to bust out since groups B, C and D haven’t even played a hand yet.”
Good Point Bill +1. You make a good point here as I thought about that also. But nothing a $20 to the right person couldn’t handle. Me +1
2. “I’m wondering if the promoter understands that by selling it as a sponsorship he’s going to be creating a taxable event which he will need to pay taxes on.“
Semi-Good Point Bill +1/2. I think that if an advertiser is willing to put up some money for the sponsorship I could put down some money for taxes. Like you said, “…he’s in it for him, not you. Most successful marketing relationships are built on the marketer promoting the product. ” So now we both are in it for something. Me +1.
“The one good thing about this though is that if he does find a sponsor, I’m going to have a lot of material to blog about“
Bill +2. This is my favorite part of the whole blog. Do you promise to give me more coverage? And I think I may have a bit more material to write about as I would be going to the WSOP to lose! Me +1!
Bill’s Total Points: 2.5
First Out Poker Total Points: 3
Looks like I won that round. For the record, there were more points that Bill made but nothing very interesting and I think I got the bigger points.
Actually, 1+.5+2=3.5, so Bill won that round.
